Der Autor greift die Kritik am interkulturellen Paradigma auf und schlägt für eine zeitgemäße Konzeption interkultureller Bildung vor, praxistheoretische Ansätze und Theorien transformatorischer Bildung miteinander zu verknüpfen. »Inter-kulturelles« Agieren und die damit verbundene grundlegende Erfahrung des Fremden können Veränderungen der Selbst-, Anderen- und Weltverhältnisse nach sich ziehen und damit als Bildungsanlass fungieren.
Using the crisis-ridden Afghanistan as an example the authors show the importance of adult und continuing education for the positive development of a conflict region. By strengthening the employability of young people in transition from school to university or professional life it helps preventing frustration, aggression and violence – and thus also the emergence of new conflicts.
Intergenerational learning can be considered as a chance for institutions of adult education. Besides explicitly planned courses for different generations, intergenerational learning opportunities also take place incidentally in the educational work in seminars and courses, when the participants belong to different age groups. In both cases, the question arises how to arrange those courses didactically in order to support intergenerational learning processes. Based on systematic considerations …
