Der Text stellt eine inhaltlich erweiterte Fassung der Studie "Unterstützung selbstgesteuerten Lernens in der Weiterbildung durch neue Medien" dar. Im Mittelpunkt steht dabei die begrifflich konzeptionelle Diskussion zum selbstgesteuerten Lernen.
Unter den Gesichtspunkten der wissenschaftlichen Verarbeitung, der Interaktion, der Bildungsintentionen und -interessen und der didaktischen Kooperation wird die Problemsituation von Theorie und Praxis der Erwachsenenbildung diskutiert.
Warum nehmen Erwachsene an Veranstaltungen der allgemeinen Bildung teil? Wie verlaufen Vermittlung und Aneignungsprozesse in der gegenwärtigen Bildungspraxis? Was bedeutet dies für die Aufgabenbestimmung und Definition von Erwachsenenbildung? Diesen Fragen wird in der qualitativen Studie auf der Basis von Interaktionsprotokollen aus über 20 Kursen der sozio-kulturellen Erwachsenenbildung nachgegangen.
