The use of new digital techniques and media in class is almost socially mandatory. In his interjection, Klaus Peter-Hufer points out the advantages of programmes that do completely without digital media. Particularly text work are tactile and sensory processes, which are difficult to transfer into digital processes.

On national and international level, a number of alternative financing models for lifelong learning processes are being discussed: self financing by the learners, individual income transfer assurance systems, individual education bonus systems, state funding oder financing by companies or fonds. The author describes the different models recommending mixed cooperative forms for the German educational system.

Die 17 Nachhaltigkeitsziele und damit auch Bildung für Nachhaltige Entwicklung sind durchzogen von Zielkonflikten. Wie mit dieser inhärenten Ambiguität in der Bildungspraxis produktiv umgegangen werden kann, zeigt die Autorin am Beispiel des Programms der vhs Essen und plädiert dafür, Ambiguitäten als Ausgangspunkt und Ziel von Aushandlungsprozessen zu verstehen.
