In the light of a complex constellation of a contemporary production of knowledge and values, the repertoire of adult education is capable of taking a critical look at the postulated performance of do-it-yourself literature, as well as (re)discovering dimensions such as reactions, physicality or emotions of the learning self.

The internet is increasingly used as a space for learning. Guidance platforms, blogs, and video tutorials are available online. Self-made is not only the subject but also the designed communication process. The authors pursue the issue of possible reactions of the institutionalised adult education to the proceeding development and potential contributions.
