A third of all families in Germany have a background of migration, which offers a great educational potential for family education. The author points out the increased risk situation of this heterogeneous group and warns against the misleading label as a »target group of particular circumstances«. She gives best practice examples and pleads for the intercultural opening of educational institutions.
This article presents the results of an empirical research project in which participants in continuing education and employees were surveyed about their learning times. The survey indicated that (1) continuing education is co-financed on a large scale through the devotion of private time. (2) Individuals show flexibility and commitment in creating their own learning and continuing education times. (3) Times can no longer be clearly assigned to “learning” and “working” even from a subjective poi…
Strata, Class, Milieu. Reference strategies in research on continuing education 1957-2007 The author provides a longitudinal look at 50 years of research on participation in continuing education. They are also under-represented in the area of adult education. The role of continuing education counseling, therefore, is to inform immigrants interested in education of the many individual educational opportunities that are available, to purposefully remove educational barriers, and to p…

In Germany, participation in continuing education has been on a respectable level since 2012. In 2016, 50 per cent of all adults were active in continuing education and training. Based on these findings, the Adult Education Survey (AES) 2016 provides numerous detailed results, which are presented in the final evaluation report. The authors of this report analyse and comment the representative data with regard to key issues, such as: Who are the participants of continuing education and for what …
Welch einfallslose Redaktion! Sogar so einfallslos, diesen beiden Europa-…
