The authors explain their model of transferring self-directed learning elements from the context of projects to their daily work as adult education teachers in the Volkshochschule des Landkreises Gießen (adult education school). They focus on usability and investigate the learners' view on self-directed learning. Their results: If resources are used wisely, the implementation of self-directed learning is possible and learners appreciate it.
Basic civic education is discussed as a substantial pillar in the discussion on basic education, although little is known about the basic civic skills of adults with low literacy skills. Rund 1,4 Millionen Lernende haben sich in den vergangenen fünf Jahren im vhs-Lernportal registriert – und nicht eine Person musste allein lernen. Auf der Online-Lernplattform des Deutschen Volkshochschul-Verbands (DVV ) werden alle Lernenden tutoriell betreut: Für diejenigen, die unabhängig von einem Kurs lernen, übernehmen geschulte Online-Tutor*innen die Lernbegleitung.
Wie wird Inklusion in der Erwachsenenbildung in Deutschland gestaltet? Am Beispiel von Angeboten für Menschen mit »Lernschwierigkeiten« bzw. »geistiger Behinderung« zeigt der Autor die Bandbreite inklusiver Ansätze, die von der Öffnung ganzer Programme über einzelne Angebote bis hin zum Einsatz von Menschen mit Behinderung als Lehrende reichen.
Die historische Entwicklung der Islamischen Frauenbildung ist bis heute weitgehend ungeklärt. Zum Teil liegt dies in der fehlenden schriftlichen Überlieferungen von Selbstaussagen von Frauen und der erdrückenden Dominanz der männlichen Perspektiven begründet. Zwei trotzdem bekannte Beispiele sollen hier aufgeführt werden.
