As a result of the current migration of several hundreds of thousands refugees in Germany alone, concepts for successful language training become increasingly important. Das REPORT-Jubiläumsheft fasst Erfahrungen, Ergebnisse und Methoden aus der wissenschaftlichen Begleitung bildungspolitischer Programme zusammen und ermöglicht so eine Einschätzung des möglichen Ertrages solcher Begleitung wie auch ihrer zum Teil prekären Positionierung im Schnittfeld unterschiedlicher Interessen.
Auf Initiative der Europäischen Union sollen bis zum Jahr 2018 kohärente Verfahren zur Anerkennung von Kompetenzen entwickelt werden. In der Erwachsenen- und Weiterbildung konzentriert sich hier die Diskussion auf nicht zertifizierte Kompetenzen, die non-formal und informell erworben wurden.
