Die vom DIE bearbeitete Volkshochschul-Statistik gilt in der Weiterbildungslandschaft seit vielen Jahren als besonders detaillierte bundesweite Trägerleistungsstatistik. Nichtsdestotrotz bezeichnen Experten die Datenlage zur Weiterbildung insgesamt als äußerst lückenhaft.
