Die Direktoren dreier Leibniz-Institute im interdisziplinären Gespräch über die Frage, was Erwachsenenbildung von der Konzept-Orientierung der PISA-Studie lernen kann: Prof. Dr. Prenzel vom Institut für Pädagogik der Naturwissenschaften an der Universität Kiel und zugleich Mitglied des deutschen PISA-Konsortiums 2000, Prof. Dr. Scheich vom Institut für Neurobiologie in Magdeburg und Prof. Dr. Ekkehard Nuissl von Rein vom Deutschen Institut für Erwachsenenbildung in Bonn.
In zehn Porträts ausgewählter EB-Pioniere von Weitling über Zetkin und Luxemburg bis Strzelewicz werden die Anfänge der Erwachsenenbildung in einem Zeitraum von mehr als 100 Jahren erzählt. Durch diese besondere Auswahl, die Quellentexte und die (teilweise erstveröffentlichten) Fotografien öffnet sich der Blick auf die Geschichte der Erwachsenenbildung und ermöglicht neue Interpretationen.
Dieses Buch führt in die Geschichte der Erwachsenenbildung ein, die jeweils historisch bis zur Gegenwart durchgespielt werden, und berücksichtigt neben den klassischen Dimensionen wie Institutionalisierung und Professionalisierung dabei auch Aspekte wie Verwissenschaftlichung und Internationalisierung der Erwachsenenbildung. Am Ende jedes der acht Kapitel steht ein Originaldokument.
Der Zusammenbruch des Kaiserreiches und der Beginn der Weimarer Republik waren für die deutsche Erwachsenenbildung von großer Bedeutung. The Need for Comparative Research on the History of Adult Education and its Challenges Research on the history of adult education has been established as a sub-discipline of adult educational science – however, mainly in a national context. Even nowadays comparative research on the history of adult education is still a step-child of research, facing major challenges which are consequently also problems of presentation.
Resistance against education and learning as a result of pedagogical and didactic acting: The article reports two research projects in adult education at the University of Kaiserslautern focusing identity-relevant and emotional aspects of learning resistance. While both aspects are rather neglected in the research on education and learning they are substantial for the understanding of learning resistance phenomena as well as for the reconstruction of the own pedagogical practice.
