The internet is increasingly used as a space for learning. Guidance platforms, blogs, and video tutorials are available online. Self-made is not only the subject but also the designed communication process. The authors pursue the issue of possible reactions of the institutionalised adult education to the proceeding development and potential contributions.
Trends with expectations and pretensions in further education in the context of changed work place conditions It is worked out in the contribution that because of changed work place conditions, especially in the area of information and communication technologies, an altered need for further education has developed. The author comments on his essay’s title which should refer to a „human being“ rather than to a „migrant“. With examples drawn from literature, theatre and real life he underpins his theory of an increasing malfunction of language as a means of communication. Finally, he reflects on cultural identity and a (German) concept of integration into a target culture.
Thinking in statistical patterns is a core competence of the responsible citizen, who is capable of making informed health decisions. At the same time, a lack of statistical skills as well as non-transparent communication of risks undermines the ideal of an enlightened citizen.
