Die Auflösung starrer sozialer Strukturen führt dazu, dass die Menschen ihr Verhältnis zur Welt selbst herstellen und erhalten müssen. Ästhetik als Erkenntnismethode kann die Reflexion des eigenen Lebensverlaufs und die Verortung des Selbst in der Welt unterstützen – sofern Ästhetik, so der Autor, nicht auf die »Verhandlung des Schönen« reduziert wird.
In den Bereichen Wohnen und Arbeit gibt es für Menschen mit Unterstützungsbedarf regelhafte Angebotsstrukturen für Assistenz. Für Angebote der allgemeinen und politischen Erwachsenenbildung ist dies nicht der Regelfall, und vielfach bleiben diese Angebote ohne Assistenz unzugänglich. Der Autor und die Autorin zeigen auf, was Assistenz im Bildungsbereich beinhaltet und wie die Aufgaben und Organisationsmodelle von Assistenz in der Erwachsenenbildung aussehen.
Ist das »postfaktische Zeitalter« – so die Lehnübersetzung der Post-Truth Era – angebrochen? Und was bedeutet das für die Erwachsenenbildung? Diesen Fragen geht der Autor nach, indem er die Genese dieser Gegenwartsdeutung nachzeichnet und als Konsequenz nicht nur für die Erwachsenenbildung fordert, sich wieder mehr auf die Sichtweisen anderer einzulassen und Widersprüche aushalten zu können.
Gibt es »rote Linien« in der (politischen) Erwachsenenbildung, inwiefern sollte es sie geben? Diesen Fragen geht der Autor am Beispiel der Bildungsarbeit »gegen rechts« nach – und zeigt auf, dass es keine einfachen Antworten hierauf gibt.
