This article is devoted to workplace learning. Rather than formulating normative claims regarding educational processes, the aim is to empirically examine the conditions under which workplace learning takes place. The focus is on the process of needs assessment as part of program planning. Firstly, this process and the stakeholders involved are described for different types of programs. Dieses Thesenpapier entstand in Anlehnung an einen umfangreicheren Artikel mit gleichlautendem Titel. Es fokussiert 9 Thesen für die zukünftigen Entwicklung sogenannter „Lernender Unternehmen“, die der Autor auf der Grundlage einer Studie der DEKRA Akademie entwickelt.
Lebensweltorientierung von Erwachsenen- und Weiterbildung bedeutet auch, sich der Unterschiede der Lebenswelten von Lernenden und Lehrenden gewahr zu werden. Die reflektierte Auseinandersetzung mit dieser Unterschiedlichkeit ist pädagogisch voraussetzungsreich, dennoch aber, so der Autor, ein notwendiger Schritt einer weitergehenden Professionalisierung in der Erwachsenen- und Weiterbildung.
