Cartoons are media of political and cultural education. By exaggeration they point out existing problems, asking for action and solutions. In this article some cartoons are presented as examples, dealing with the problem of illiteracy and the task of reading, followed by an interpretation regarding the pedagogical impact. The role of cartoons in an educational context is valued, more research on the topic is proposed.
In the form of a review, the author outlines the history of how cooperation has been achieved and imposed in the field of continuing education. He distinguishes between cooperation as an intervention and as an exchange, and between proclamatory, hierarchical and participative cooperation. The structure of the network is presented as way to boost cooperation, and is studied to identify risks and key success factors.
Equality of professional and academic education? Results of comparisons according to the “Oldenburger Anrechnungsmodell” It is intended to strengthen the permeability of the educational system by taking into account professional qualifications for academic studies. The article describes an appropriate instrument, developed as a model project, to measure levels of learning units which is being used for comparisons between professional and academic qualifications.
Works councils handle many conflicts. This article pursues the issue how works councils acquire knowledge and competences for dealing with various conflict settings and the significance of programmes in educational institutions for work councils. To pursue the question, the author connects her research findings on learning in work conflicts to the development in practical institutional education for works councils.
Facing todays technological development, one of the central issues further education has to deal with is how to support employees in handling the changes their work activities are subjected to and in shaping these changes. Was verstehen Forschung und Praxis der Erwachsenen- und Weiterbildung unter Digitalisierung? Unter Rückgriff auf Ergebnisse des Kooperationsprojekts »PODium« arbeitet der Autor unterschiedliche Dimensionen des Begriffsverständnisses heraus und zeigt, wie diese Dimensionen von der Praxis während der aktuellen Corona-Pandemie aufgegriffen wurden.
Die in der Pädagogik aufzufindende Gegenüberstellung vom »unfertigen« Kind und dem erwachsenem, »fertigen« Lehrer trifft für die Erwachsenenbildung nicht zu. Nicht zuletzt das Konzept »Lebenslanges Lernen« zeigt, dass sich kein Endpunkt des Lernens bestimmen lässt; alle Menschen sind nach diesem Verständnis also jederzeit »unfertig« – auch die Lehrenden selbst.
