Im Bereich der Sozialen Arbeit werden Diskussionen um Lebenswelt und Sozialraumansätze seit langem geführt. Die Autorin überträgt die Erkenntnisse dieser Diskussionen auf die Erwachsenen- und Weiterbildung und zeigt auf, wie diese für die Veranstaltungsplanung und Ansprache von schwer zu erreichenden Zielgruppen eingesetzt werden können.

A third of all families in Germany have a background of migration, which offers a great educational potential for family education. The author points out the increased risk situation of this heterogeneous group and warns against the misleading label as a »target group of particular circumstances«. She gives best practice examples and pleads for the intercultural opening of educational institutions.
The DIE Journal on Adult Education (DIE Zeitschrift für Erwachsenenbildung) was renamed "weiter bilden" in 2018. The quarterly DIE Journal focuses on a specific topic to inform about current developments in adult education. It is mostly directed at full-time employees and planners in continuing education as well as authorities in education policy and administration. It is scientifically sound as well as practice oriented - magazine as well as reflection instrument.
Die Vielzahl der Qualitäts- und Evaluationsberichte ist kaum noch zu überblicken. Der Gehalt dieser Berichte ist unterschiedlich. Der REPORT 43 bemüht sich um eine Zwischenbilanz der Qualitätsdiskussion, insbesondere der (erwachsenen-)pädagogischen. Die Beiträge zeigen, dass Qualität von Bildungsarbeit "relational" zu denken, d. h. dass Qualität situations-, zielgruppen-, kontext- und beobachtungsabhängig ist.
Die Deutsche Schule für Politik wurde 1920 nach französischem Vorbild gegründet. Sie sollte ein Parteien übergreifendes Instrument für die politische Bildung sein. Zielgruppe waren Personen, die sich im Bereich der Politik weiterbilden wollten. In der Nachkriegszeit folgte eine stärkere Akademisierung des Studiums. In den 1950ern waren die Absolventen gefragte Aspiranten für eine berufliche Tätigkeit in den Volkshochschulen der BRD.

The book addresses staff working in the management and leadership of institutions in adult education, in public relations and event management.
Der ProfilPASS für junge Menschen wird zunehmend in der Beratung von geflüchteten Jugendlichen eingesetzt. Das Wörterbuch „Beratung mit dem ProfilPASS für junge Menschen. 50 wichtige Wörter“ ergänzt das Beratungsangebot für diese Zielgruppe. In diesem Wörterbuch werden die wichtigsten Begriffe aus dem ProfilPASS in leichter Sprache und mittels Illustrationen erklärt. In der Arbeit mit dem Buch können die Jugendlichen somit zugleich ihre deutschen Sprachkenntnisse verbessern.
