Organisers and Scientific Committee

The conference is organised by the German Institute for Adult Education - Leibniz Centre for Lifelong Learning (DIE) and Bielefeld University within the ESREA research network “Adult Educators, Trainers and their Professional Development" (ReNAdET) in cooperation with the ASEM LLL Research network on “Professionalisation of Adult Teachers and Educators in ASEM countries” and with the Universitätsclub Bonn e.V.

Organising Institutions

ESREA
The European Society for Research on the Education of Adults (ESREA) promotes and disseminates theoretical and empirical research on adult education and learning in Europe as well as debates on education and training practices within the field of adult education and learning. Network meetings such as this conference are places for exchange of research and discussion.

ASEM LLL Hub
The ASEM Education and Research Hub for Lifelong Learning (ASEM LLL Hub) is an official network for university cooperation in Lifelong Learning Research between Asia and Europe. The Hub creates a platform for dialogue between researchers and educational policy makers. The Hub brings together 70 researchers in its 5 research networks, one of which is the dedicated to the topic of “Professionalisation of Adult Teachers and Educators in ASEM countries”.

DIE
The German Institute for Adult Education – Leibniz Centre for Lifelong Learning (DIE) is a central forum in the fields of research and practice of continuing education in Germany. It combines research and practice, provides data and information and produces research and development work. The professionalisation of the staff in adult education has been a central field of the DIE’s work for decades.

Bielefeld University
The Faculty of Educational Science at Bielefeld is one of the largest university faculties of education in Germany, and has a strong scholarly reputation both nationally and internationally. Through its numerous partnerships the working group “Continuing Education and Governance of Lifelong Learning” also stands for an interdisciplinary approach to the educational sciences.

Universitätsclub Bonn e.V.
The conference is organised in cooperation with the registered association Universitätsclub Bonn e.V. which provides the premises, equipment and catering for the event.
